As the temperature outside drops, showers get hotter and longer. There’s no better way to relax then with a hot steamy bath or shower in your own home. But then all your pores are enlarged and you feel sluggish, what if you have work to do or want to watch a movie in bed or something? A blast of cold water at the end of your shower will re-invigorate you and close up your pores for smoother, softer skin. The more drastic the temperature change the better you will feel but make sure not to burn or freeze yourself.

Cleansing is the corner stone of beauty and health so I like to change up my routine somtimes and look for new and exciting products. I love a good exfoliation and use a sugar scrub or my newest obsession the SpaCloth. Other times I prefer a soothing bath with milk. I’ve never considered caffeine as something that was good to intake through my skin but times are a changing and I want to keep up with the newest trends.
I found Caffeinated Soap by Costic which claims 200mg of caffeine per shower, whatever that means. I have no idea how much caffeine is in a soda or my coffee so that number means nothing to me, but there are days when I need a jolt of energy first thing in the morning.

There’s also Bath Buzz Caffeinated Lotion it gives you a “blast of caffeine” and claims to be “lotion loaded with caffeine”.
There isn’t really a lot of information about the effects caffeine in these products if any have had. Even the men are in on this caffeine conspiracy with the Moxie for Men Couble Shot Caffeinated Eye Cream in which they claim the caffeine helps stimulate the circulation. There’s also ShowerShock which I’d like to try but want a little more info first…
I’m not so sure all these products work and if I even want to try them so I’m looking for some practical advice about these, are they worth the money and did you experience any adverse effects from using these types of products?

I’ve been thinking about all the stuff I want to buy in the near future…
- feminine gym bag, probably not a duffle but not the LL Bean tote I’m currently using
- fluffy slippers with skid protection
- lots of small size product to take to the gym, shampoo, conditioner, hair treatments, moisturizers for face and body.
- a towel that is fast drying to take back and forth to the gym
- a body skimming sweat suit
- new UGGS
- Crocs for me -ewww but a necessity at this point

I’ve been working out like crazy recently and with all that working out comes lots of showers. The trouble is I don’t get to the shower until a good hour after I finish working out. With picking up the girls from school and fixing their lunch, usually it’s an hour later and I’m just peeling off those sweaty clothes. Putting myself in a skin emergency!
SpaCloths unclog pores, exfoliate and invigorate skin and they do just that. These wonderful cloths are from Japan and remind me of the onsens (hot springs) we used to visit. I’ve visited lots of countries with very beautiful people but Japan is definitely the place for anything to do with bathing. Bathing is serious business and the quality of the products will astound you.
These cloths are not just an ordinary washcloth, they have two sides or three dimensional pleats to massage your entire body. I feel like I’ve been to the spa and back after using these and you will too. It will help even out skin tone, control oily skin, alleviate dry skin and much more. I have the Spa Cloth Deluxe and the SpaCloth Mitt.
The Deluxe cloth is the most amazing large cloth, it feels so good to exfoliate with this and the larger size gives so much scrunchy goodness! The Spa Cloth Mitt has the same great feel and works well when you’re in a rush and don’t want to mess around too long in the shower or bath. My husband has been using the Mitt alot, he has somewhat dry skin usually but has experienced a wonderful soft new skin.
SpaCloths are sold on eBay and accept paypal, just search for Spa Cloth or the SpaCloth Website

I’ll start off by letting you know I’m not the biggest fan of Bath and Body Works, their stuff is usually too scenty for my taste and it seems way overpriced. However, like all things I have had weak moments and bought into it all, the last time was when boy2001 was a baby. I would walk to B&B Works with him and smell all the nice things and bought a lot on sale.
Anyway, I received a little coupon for a free product with ANY purchase last week, I’m thinking I’ll get something really inexpensive to exploit the coupon and skipped over to my local strip mall. I was shocked at how tempted I was by almost everything but when I saw the Soft Robes I almost passed out! These robes were soooooooooo soft!
I talked myself out of the robe… too bulky, will just add to my laundry pile when the kids spill stuff all over me, kids will use the belt to tie each other up and I’ll have to walk around with it open and of course my favorite - it’s something only I get to enjoy and I’m trying to be unselfish! So I continued to saunter through the store and come to the
Sweetest Softest Nap Blanket(s) on earth!
The blanket has fleece as white as snow and everywhere that I went that blanket was sure to go. I have always loved little lambs and the feel of this blanket is just that, it’s made out of polyester which keep you extra warm and is animal friendly.
This blanket is enchanting, I HAD to have it! I see the $35 price - ouch! I debated, committed by holding the box in my hand and giggled a little so I walked up to the counter. I was stopped by a sales rep who told me that I had to also buy $25 of stuff to get that $35 price… ughh… so I start looking at the little girl stuff from American Girl, I bought the cutest gift set for girl2004 and bath sprinkles - she is going to absolutely love them.
I was also able to get my crummy free product that started all this, so the promo worked, it got me in and spending. I am under this blanket right now but have hidden it from the kids during the daylight. I am going to buy at least one more for them to share on the sofa. It is soooo soft and cuddly, I also like that it is machine washable. Let me know if you cuddle up with a wooly blanket or your favorite throw.
