Evian Drops at Fashion Week

January 31st, 2008 · No Comments

Tomorrow is the first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York (February 1-8, 2008) and the official water is EvianEvian is on the forefront of fashions with their luxurious and sought after designer bottles by Christian Lacroix.   I think they’re just gorgeous!

Christian Lacroix closes all of his haute-couture shows with a bridal dress.  Bridal dresses are a symbol of purity and purity is the core of Evian’s brand.

The see through lace and design of the bottle is elegant.  The limited edition bottle is often seen in high-end restaurants, hotels and nightclubs.  Those who like the very best, love Evian.

The Christian Lacroix Evian Bottle quenches the fashionistas thirst for that perfect touch of pretty - without the price tag!

No need to fear, Evian is near!  Supermarkets and grocery stores carry the Natural Spring Water which is quite amazing when you realize that it takes 15 years for each drop of Evian to filter through the glacial sands of the French Alps.

Hydration and beauty go hand in hand, our bodies need pure water to function properly so enjoy a collectible treat your body and senses will enjoy!

Rihanna Got Milk? ad beauty

January 31st, 2008 · No Comments

rihannagotmilkad2008.jpgGot Milk? The talented and Beautiful, Rihanna is the latest spokesperson to urge us to drink milk

Hopefully the prices will come down so us mere mortals can afford it.  I guess reducing the price never crossed the ad people’s minds to encourage us to drink more milk.

A girl shouldn’t have to choose between the essentials: milk and lip gloss…

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Product Review

January 30th, 2008 · 1 Comment

microdermabrasion-dr-brandt.jpgI went on a shopping spree and bought loads of Dr. Brandt stuff, it was just time to get on to the new beauty, ya know.  I got to meet the good Doctor Brandt at an event (which is a nice way to put buying fest!) Dr. Brandt was very pleasant and informed me that I had hyper pigmentation on my cheeks which I kind of knew, just didn’t know there was a fancy name to it.  He prescribed some products which could have easily totaed $700 or so to get my face up to par but I had to be practical and get the starter kit (more about that some other time) and the microdermabrasion.

The Microdermabrasion really scared me, I think it’s the -abrasion- part of the word.  When I think of abrasive I think of Ajax.  Ajax is not something I want around my face - not a good correlation to get.

Anyway, Dr. Brandt’s microdermabrasion is my new favorite thing.   I would highly suggest testing a little patch of skin to make sure it won’t be too harsh before your first use.  I pledge to use it twice a week for the rest of my life. I’ve only used it a few times and I already feel new baby skin.  Really soft and touchable.

hint: a small jar is in the New Beauty Boxes I blogged about earlier.

Tom’s of Maine Orange/Mango Toothpaste Review

January 30th, 2008 · No Comments

tomsofmaine.jpgWell, I live in Maine and am very partial to Tom’s of Maine products.  I’ve been using them forever, at first I had to go to the natural food store, but now you can get them at any drugstore or grocery. I brought my regular tube of Tom’s of Maine to boot camp with me, although I have strayed to other toothpastes, I’ve always come back to Tom’s.

I sent my husband to the store the other day and he came home with anticavity and tartar control plus whitening gel in orange and mango flavor… yuck, it is horrible, the taste makes me want to throw up! for starters it’s a gel so the consistency is bad to begin with, but the orange/mango just makes it unbearable.

I would have returned it but my husband opened it and used it before I saw it, now I’ve been stuck using this stuff because I can’t get to the store - O the joys of motherhood!

So I’m suffering through this toothpaste for a little while longer, won’t you all send a little good vibes my way that I’ll be able to get a toothpaste that doesn’t make me gag.

No More Itch: Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream product review

January 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Aveeno
My son has really dry skin, his knees hit little elbows take a beating every winter.  This year has been even worst because he’s in school loooooong days, not drinking enough water and having recess in the snow.  (I’d really like him to revert back into the little baby boy that I cuddled with all day every day for 4 years).Anyway, I’ve been using Aveeno Active Naturals Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream on him and it’s really helped.  I don’t think it’s cured the problem but it’s made it much more comfortable for him.  I didn’t use it on Saturday and he scratched himself terribly.

Aveeno Skin Relief is made with natural colloidal oatmeal, shea butter and cooling menthol, the best part it is cheap and comes in big tubs that are conducive to slathering lots of it on.  He likes this because it smells like “man stuff”… it has a very light menthol scent which seems to comfort him.   I would definately recommend it to anyone with dry skin.
