The sound on the street is sweet, 5045 mini Mascara Brushes and one talented artist can make music! Parfums Givenchy commissioned British artist Ian Wright to create a work that would coincide with the launch of Phenomen’Eyes. One of the most exciting launches, described as “a revolutionary high-precision mascara with a patented ground-breaking spherical brush”. I can’t wait to see if the ball-shaped brush will make a difference.
Wright was inspired by the lush, black and shiny lashes that many women covet. In August 2008, he began to work on the project with that in mind. Over 12 days, Wright created a black vinyl 45′ record using only mini mascara brushes as his medium.
“5045 Lashes” was unveiled at the Christopher Henry Gallery (127
Elizabeth Street), and will now appear throughout New York City in pop-up
galleries this fall (Oct 10th and 11th at Sephora SoHo; Oct 17th and 18th
at Sephora Union Square).
