Here’s my take on Jurlique’s Love Balm. I LOVE a good multi-tasking product, one that fits cutely into a purse no matter how small. Not to mention it will take care of any problem you may come across while out and about. It will take care of you from head to toe but I often use it at my waist and I will have to confess why… my jeans never fit right – I should have them taken in at the tailor but instead I wear too-tight belts, inevitably the belts find their way to my skin and the leather against my skin is r-e-a-l-l-y irritating. When I feel dry and chapped while I’m on the go I’ve been reaching for my Love Balm.

This is one product that I can use on myself and infinitely more important to me – my kids without hesitation since it is free of Parabens, PEGs, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate). It has a fabulous scent on the citrus side but very light and fresh.

Disney’s Princess Tiana Beauty Collection

The 9th Disney Princess, Princess Tiana is making her debut in “The Princess and the Frog” and all the girls in our house cann’t wait to see the movie. This is one Disney initiative I really want to support! December 11th please come quick!

Oh how I love Dove! Always great products! moisturizing, nourishing formulas that leave your skin wanting for absolutely nothing. Not surprisingly Allure magazine has named Dove’s Nutrium Body Wash as a best in beauty innovation citing a milky cleanser feel. Sounds super silky shower staple worthy to me.

Dove’s outreach to women and girls is equally impressive. The Campaign for Real Beauty in my opinion was the best and most memorable ad campaign ever! Finally a company legitimized the reality of how many women look. And poking around the Girl Scout website I ran across the Uniquely ME! Girl Scout/ Dove self-esteem program. Hopefully that’s a good enough excuse to mention that I’m a Girl Scout MOM as of yesterday! It will be a few years before we get to the Uniquely ME! program but it’s something to look forward to for sure.

Shower Sherbert by Me! Bath

I’m a big fan of sugar scrubs to exfoliate the dead skin on my legs and this one has a great pomegranate scent to die for! We’re almost done with our portion but I know I’ll be indulging some time very soon.

I’ve been inspired for some time by the idea of roughing it with style.

Eva Gabor’s portrayal of a glamorous woman living a rural lifestyle on Green Acres could sum it up in a nutshell for every day roughing it up with style. However, most modern women would not agree to that “you are my wife” obligation like Eva’s character did and be dragged off onto a rural farm.

More often, women get invited on short trips, perhaps camp-outs but at the same time they want to look and feel great. I remember one episode of the Nick & Jessica Simpson show when they go camping and Jessica brings her white Louis Vuitton purse along with all the “essentials” — very glampy if you ask me and deserving of a mention on my glampy thoughts post!

Glamorous Campers

…aka Glampers, generally agree to temporarily expose themselves to the elements, so I will use a television episode which follows this more realistic scenario IMO.

In true glamping style, Mrs. Oleson (Little House on the Prairie, played by Katherine MacGregor) invites herself along and imposes her glampiness on the Ingalls on one of my favorite LHOP episodes EVER ”The Campout”. (psst: you can watch it on youtube)

Mrs. Oleson (hereinafter referred to as OG ”original glamper”) is sure to annoy and tickle you silly with her fancy parasols and tea service.

Glampers may not have come up with the camping idea but that may not matter, if they turn into a glamp-zilla the whole trip could become one fabulous event.

Insisting on all the finest… silver utensils, 100% wool &/or cashmere blankets, crystal plates for the smores made with Tomblerone chocolate, big heavy luggage, — the possibilities are endless so… I will keep my thoughts to useful and beauty products for this post.

Glampers may have an aversion to squatting to pee, going without makeup, nail polish and/or all the little indulgences that make life so much fun!

5 things I will be putting in my camping bag…

You know that I love candles! and for that reason you will not be surprised to see a candle tops my short list on things to have while glamping! This candle is different! Scandle lights up your environs AND gives a not so subtle hint that you wouldn’t refuse a massage! Available in travel tins. As mentioned above, Glampers may have an aversion to crouching like a commoner to tinkle. That’s when glampers can turn to their Go Girl. One makeup palette to face glamping day or night. Even though you are wanting to look your very best, you don’t want to lug around a lot of makeup that may melt or get lost! Good palettes have great mirrors and makeup. Check out Napoleon Perdis’, NP sets (available at Target and Target.com).
Glampers need fast and effective makeup removal even when water is not accessible. Makeup remover towelettes are the way to go while camping or otherwise traveling. There are lots of different makeup remover wipes to choose from as you know. Right now I”m loving MUD (Make-Up Designory) makeup remover towelettes because they feel so good AND leave my skin feeling refreshed and toned in one easy step. Although fragrance does NOT generally make the camping list due to the possibility of attracting winged things. I am going to make an exception the next time I go glamping because I of my love for Crazy sticks by crazylibelleule, the cutest (IMO) solid fragrances – they are a must for my next glamping trip.

Now that the rain has stopped in New England I will have pics of our very own glamping adventures. Keep on camping while glamorous!

Here comes summer! I hope I’m not rushing you, I know it’s early spring! anyone who visits the women’s razor aisles knows that they are constantly being improved and revamped. One of the latest in my household is the Venus Embrace by Gilette.

The razor is slim and manuveurs easily, the gel handle will keep your hands feeling good for your first shearing of the season. At least that’s how I feel after a long winter of growing in my winter coat… just kidding of course. ;)

By necessity I shave f-a-s-t and I didn’t get nicked once! A nice clean shave from the moisture ribbon and five blades. Highly recommend this razor to anyone who does not want any nicks!

Barielle Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion

The Lotion De Luxe for Hands and Body by Barielle has been perking up my fall blahs. The fresh citrus scent coupled with a lightweight, non-greasy formula come together to give a non shiny moisturized sheen to hands.

I’ve used Barielle’s nail care items before but this is the first time I’m using a skincare item by Barielle and I’m happy with it. They have solutions for dry and cracked skin as well as age spots making Barielle a great brand to know.

FYI: my favorite Barielle nail care item: Natural Nail Camouflage because it makes my nails look so bright and keeps them from splitting.
