Japan is the bathing captial of the world, you can quote me on that.
Almost every store has a humongous bath section and people of all ages, even grimy little boys, look forward to their baths every night. The whole thing is incredibly relaxing, first a vigorous scrub in a shower and then a soak in the tub in an upright sitting position.
Most of the time, Japanese people soak in plain hot water. Other times they will throw bath salts in. Lavender and Yuzu seem to be very popular scents at bath time.
It is believed that Yuzu will warm you up in winter, yuzu has a wonderful citrus scent and you should know by now I LUV citrus scents. Since many Japanese don’t heat their homes the same way we do in the US, a body-warming citrus bath is usually welcomed.
Now you can experience the Pleasure of a Japanese Bath from the comfort of your own home with Shu Uemura’s bath oil. It’s amazing! the scent, fresh citrus that infuses the air and your skin. It makes my skin feel so soft but it’s not at all greasy like some other bath oils can be. It makes the water white at first but it didn’t warm up my body, maybe I’m too cold blooded, (please note the Shu Uemura product does not claim to warm your body, I’m referring to the old school thoughts on Yuzu). Luckily I like to run the water extremely hot so my body’s plenty warm as it is.
Pleasure of Japanese Bath is available in Yuzu (citrus fruit), Shobu (no idea), Sakura (Cherry Blossom) and Hinoku (no idea) for $40. Please note that these bath oils have been re-introduced and originally launched over a decade ago! So don’t miss this chance.

I have been in my garden all weekend, turning the soil, making a new compost pile, weeding and watering and combatting the weird bushes that are trying to take down my apple trees. Despite these horrible mangrove type bushes twising around them, trying to bring them down, my little apple trees are sprouting pretty little blossoms. I love the blossoms, it’s the first real sign of spring and make me so darned happy I can’t tell you.
My dream next year is to plant 15 Cherry Blossom trees (I’ve wished this for the last 4 years!) because I love the blossoms so much. It’s not going to happen again this year, so for now I will appease myself by camping out at local Cherry Blossom trees for our family ohanami party. Until then…
Bath & Body Works has captured the fresh scent of spring with a crispy citrus and floral scent named Blushing Cherry Blossom. I LOVE it, what a boost to the psyche after a long blah winter.
Top Notes: Mandarin, Leafy Green Accord, Sparkling Quince, Lush Berries, Fresh Melon
Mid Notes: Rose Damascena, Super Hedoine, White Jasmin, Rose Juliette Greco
Dry Down Notes: Musk, Violet, Soft Amber, Creamy Sandalwood
The scent is available in several different Bath & Body Works products.
Eau de Toilette ($19.00)
Body Lotion ($10.00)
Shower Gel ($10.00)
Body Splash ($11.00)
Body Cream($11.00)
Limited Edition Satin Body Veil ($14.50)
I tried the shower gel as well and it is divine, this is a must try line. Available in all Bath & Body Works stores and @ www.bathandbodyworks.com I can’t help but think: Fresh, Radiant, Blissful. Happy Beauty Bathing Everyone!

Don’t be a HOT Racker!
I love this stuff, a drugstore find, it’s affordable and readily available. No bathroom should be without Olay’s Calm Release, super sweet smell and non-drying formula. Lavender just makes me feel good, how ’bout you?
So comforting and relaxing, it’s a total favorite. In addition to the scent the formula is gentle and moisturizing, my skin feels so good when I use this, it’s awesome to use right before bed. Speaking of bed-time rituals, I’m always surprised when people don’t take showers at night, it’s so refreshing to get the days worries off and start fresh the next day, don’t you think?
I can’t help but think of a derogatory Navy term for people who don’t bathe at night, “hot rackers”… rack = bed, and hot = not bathed. I can’t help but think this to myself in the back of my mind if I can’t shower at night, like right now because it’s so late I don’t want to disturb all the sleepy heads in the house!
Thanks to Total Beauty and CEW for the chance to try this fantastic product!

Don’t you just love when you find something that you’d totally forgotten about? It doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s like treasure. I’m pretty sure I bought this right before we bought this house 3 years ago. I just found it behind a big storage container thing I use on the top shelf of my bathroom. I look at the storage thing quite often but the little tin was behind it for some reason. Anyway, I took a bath with it and I love the scent!
I have the Sweet Orange Powdered Sugar Bath Soak and it smells so good. The packaging is super adorable, a spice tin, girl2004 thought I was baking in the bathroom - she is so into cooking it’s not even funny. We call her baby Giada because her favorite food tv star is Giada DeLaurentis. I used a lot more powder than the recommended 2 tablespoons it smelled good enough to eat.

As the temperature outside drops, showers get hotter and longer. There’s no better way to relax then with a hot steamy bath or shower in your own home. But then all your pores are enlarged and you feel sluggish, what if you have work to do or want to watch a movie in bed or something? A blast of cold water at the end of your shower will re-invigorate you and close up your pores for smoother, softer skin. The more drastic the temperature change the better you will feel but make sure not to burn or freeze yourself.
