After I found out Target doesn’t want to respond to blogger inquiries I hit the Walmart -without kids - which means I got to peruse the cosmetics aisles and see what’s new there.
I found the deals on the Maybelline Great Lash and bought my Cover Girl Lash Blast on that trip as well as some other great stuff.
There was a big display for Slim Fast and some free “Simple Success Starter Kit For Healthy Weight Loss”. I got one and wanted to share some wisdom from the pamphlet.
- The diet is about progress, not perfection. It’s not about being a size 4 or 6 — you can look good in a 10 or 12
- Set a goal you can achieve
- Be patient with yourself
- Make over your kitchen replacing (insert bad stuff with good stuff)
- Walk or workout just 30 minutes a day
These are things we can all use, Slim Fast or not. They also give a magnet to write in your weight every week. There’s also info about the 12 week Style Your Slim Challenge, visit http://slim-fast.com if you register you get $30 worth of coupons and other stuff.

I joined a gym a few weeks ago and have been LOVING the group exercise classes. It seems all the routines are choreographed by Les Mills. I really like that I know what to expect, if doesn’t matter who is teaching the class because the routine is the same and I’ll get a great workout. I also like the music, the movements are coordinated to the music, making it easy to follow - sometimes! I almost feel like a back up dancer while doing the Body Step(tm) routines.
If you have a gym near you that offers these classes get to them, they are fantastic! I’ve tried Body Step, Body Jam, Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Flow.

There’s a great diet and fitness website that is also FREE! My Fitness Pal is easy to use and an excellent tool to help in your weightloss efforts. I like that it does not require you to fill out a long profile to get the info you need. There is a free calorie counter to teach you how many calories you are eating… check out on the bottom of the front page the foods are alphabetized to help us make better food choices.
Calorie counting is an important part of effective weightloss but you need the most effective and helpful tools availble. Remember that there is no credit card required - EVER, truly 100% FREE calorie counter! I hope you find this as useful as I have.

I fell off the wagon for a while, and I admit to eating 3 eclairs from Walmart’s bakery, but I promise I am getting back to it. I haven’t regained the 15 pounds I lost, so it’s not so bad. I can do it!!

Today went well, I did sneak two cookies at snack time which is NOT good, but I’m hoping it won’t be a problem on the scales in the morning.
This is really a great diet but when you have so much kid stuff around it is VERY hard to stay good. The member boards are really fun too, I’ve been spending a little time over there and neglecting my blog a little bit.
Can’t wait to post my after photos.
