My favorite thing of the week award goes to Lavanila’s Lip Butter with SPF 15. It’s true that I don’t have a natural attraction to anything vanilla. I must admit I’m not a lover of vanilla scent but right now I need an escape from reality and the everyday, plus with the hubby around I need those soft lips right now.

Chantecaille’s in Sherlock Holmes

The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ feature film will be in theaters December 25, 2009. If you like the looks in the movie be sure to check out Chantecaille’s makeup line. Makeup artist Patricia Regan used a couple of products, including an old favorite, Chantecaille’s Just Skin tinted moisturizer. It’s a little expensive @ $62 per 1.7 oz. If money is no object, go for it! It’s a two in one product with SPF 15 and is a great lightweight skin cover.

L’Oreal HIP Kohl eye liner Product Review

This was different! I tried the L’Oreal HIP Kohl Eye Liners in Gold & Navy, two classic and at the same time, trendy colors which makes me happy.

The powder pigments are in little vials and the applicator is on a very short looped handle which I found awkward but workable. Not to mention this is a very portable, travel sized makeup staple. The applicator itself is VERY hard. Be sure you are totally still or you can do some damage. I tried this as a tightliner (which I haven’t done since the Thriller album I think) and for regular under-lash eye lining. When used on the skin, the applicator is much too hard and pulls the skin so I would cautiously advise this product for tight-lining.

A still and steady hand are a must! the pay off is truly pigmented color. Is it worth it? only you can tell

L’Oreal HIP Presso Lip Gloss Product Review

I tested two L’Oreal HIP Presso Lip Glosses this month so if you’ve been wondering what that is on my lips it’s been this stuff. The first thing that caught my attention was the scent, something like a vanilla cupcake which may have some of you salivating. As you may know, vanilla is not a personal favorite scent. However, I’m a trooper and at the rate I go through lip gloss I’m willing to overlook the scent.

The application is ok. Pop off the top, squeeze either side to choose how much color you want. It’s not particularly ’intense’ but it’s still a nice gloss. The bonus is it was not sticky at all! Sticky glosses are my pet peeve so I’m always on the lookout for offending glosses.
