One of my last stops in New York was totally unplanned, I was out walking seeing the sites up Madison Avenue when I speed walked past the N.V. Perricone Flagship store. I crossed the street and looked back and just HAD to go in, I love Perricone’s book, The Perricone Promise, I followed the eating plan for a few weeks then lost my willpower but I did lose weight and my skin was bright.
I’ve also tried several Perricone products and enjoyed all of them but when I walked into the store, large glass jars of tea greeted me. I was invited in and served a hot cup of Dragon Pearl Jasmine Supreme tea. The sweetest little buds of hand-wrapped white tea scented with summer jasmine blossoms. I’ve been using a tea ball with 3 pearls per cup since I’ve been back. I love it at bedtime because of the great scent. This tea is only available at the elegant Perricone Flagship store located at 791 Madison Avenue (at East 67th Street). A great place to try a new Perricone product or stock up on a favorite.

The great thing about tea is it tastes great, is great for your health and it’s budget friendly.
Every so often I get a little bored with my tea prep and willingly look for ways to complicate things. When I received a humongous gift certificate a few years ago I drove myself crazy deciding what to get. Finally I chose and made one of those buys that basically makes no sense and you never really understand why you actually did.
I had to buy something - I didn’t want to be one of those people that doesn’t use their gift cert, so I chose the Staub Round Cast Iron Teapot in Black . The teapot retails for over $119 but unfortunately it lacks the basics I’m looking for in a teapot/kettle.
For starters the stainless steel handles cannot be handled when hot… I really don’t have time to fool with oven mitts or third degree burns. Also I want to leave extra water in it and put it in the dishwasher every so often which is not possible. I normally leave my teapot on my stovetop so it does get greasy and cooking stuff on it. Another thing that bugs me is there is no whistle because the pour spot is open.
The only good thing is I do love the way it looks, I think it’s got a great style and character but the functionality is seriously lacking. I found this to be an expensive and impractical tea kettle for my needs. I often turn to my trusty pot to prepare my tea water.
Keep on steeping!

Steeping White Tea with RariTeas fantastic white tea blend. What a wonderful treat to receive some samples from RariTeas recently. What starts out as a little bundle of tea leaves turns into a treat for the eyes, the flower opens during steeping which kept my kids on the edge of their seats watching each leaf slowly unfurl from the center. They call the little bundle a “bulb” which is a wonderful thought as you are planting something in your body that will come to full bloom someday.
After steeping 5 minutes I removed the bundle and sat down to enjoy. RariTeas was such a pleasure, very subtle flavor not overpowering yet refreshing. Great health benefits not to mention a great way to get kids interested in tea! White tea is a great investment in your health and well being and there is no better way then with these gorgeous RariTeas blends. Because this is a white tea it is less processed, hand tied to become beautiful creations.
The site sells 6 bulbs for $13.75 choose a package or pick your own tea blend. What a great stocking stuffer or hostess gift! Spirituality, Honesty, Integrity, Modesty, Beauty, Serenity, Loyalty, Simplicity, Dignity, Generosity, Eternity
Consider the gift of beauty, health and longevity with RariTeas where the teas are art. Keep on Steeping!

Have you been wondering what the “steeping” part of my title is about?
I realize that I need to do a better job of incorporating the tea I love into the beauty of this site. Most blogs I visit promote coffee, well, I’m sorry to say that I drink coffee and enjoy it when I do but I’m really looking for serenity and beauty. Tea gives you both and is delicious to me, I don’t normally add sugar, I just like the feeling of drinking something pure and good for me.
I drink any and all types of tea. I first started liking tea while living in Japan… I worked as an English Communications Instructor for 4 years and it is their custom to serve a beverage. I didn’t really like coffee and it seemed like more trouble, so I would ask for tea. They always had the water ready so it was very practical.
It’s been a few weeks since I made myself some tea, I’ll blame the heat and basic laziness (not wanting to do anything extra). Now I’m turning a new leaf - AGAIN! let the tea steeping being…
