By far the most challenging part of Air Travel these days for beauty enthusiasts is fitting your entire beauty regimen into one little baggy. Our mother’s and grandmother’s were spoiled with their spacious vanity cases, a la American Tourister. Women are having to do more with less and still look as beautiful, so we have to adapt and look for great products in small sizes.
This trend is going to continue so get used to your carry-on beauty baggie. Here are some ideas as beauty baggie builders…

Bath & Body Works Travel Size items are only 4 for $10. Check out the Enchanted Orchid Body Splash for starters.
MD Skincare, a great brand you know and trust is now offering EZ4U skincare, packaged in little packettes so you can Leave Acne Behind once and for all. They come in normal and Dry/Normal and Normal/Oily options.
and the cornerstone of this Beauty Baggie Builder is Lisa Hoffman Packette system. Choose from:
Spa Shower Packette (Cleansing Gel, Body Scrub, Body Oil, Body Lotion, and Hand & Foot Cream)
Spa Bath Packette (Bath Soak, Body Wash, Body Polisher, Body Cream, and Hand & Foot Butter)
Spa Facial Packette (mini doses of all ten products in the Spa Facial collection)

Welcome Aboard the first in a series of Summer Air Travel posts all about my thoughts on air travel. The first in the series is about the hot topic of the fees for checking a bag. The New York Post reported that American Airlines is now charging $15 for the FIRST checked bag. Other airlines are charging $25 for the second checked bag and don’t you dare try to overstuff your first, they will charge you if you go over the weight limit.
All this means that you will have to pack wisely and carry-on yourself. For you beauty-holics it’s the perfect time to splurge on a chic carry-on bag to house it all. Here is my favorite, the Boxford from Longchamp pays for itself in 20 trips ($15 x 20). If you booked your travel well in advance of these fees and charges, it’s worth trying to get your money back. If not, is the flying public going to be responsible for all their increases and fees as they occur?

New York City Wednesday 20, 2008
I started off at 4 in the morning, got to the airport and waited my two hours, I passed the time by re-reading The Little Prince and knitting a little bear for my girls.
Plane was on time, took the E train to Times Square and started off with breakfast at 8:19 @ Yoshinoya… I didn’t even bother waiting for the Hello Kitty store this time - it is such a non-event, way too small and nothing interactive.
Picture of me accepting Oscar.
I headed up to check out David Letterman, sure enough there were free tickets to be had. I love David Letterman, he’s not always that funny but he seems like a sweet guy which makes up for it. I really hated the last taping I went to when Howard Stern was a guest. I can’t stand Stern so I just sat without clapping but he crossed the line when he bad mouthed Oprah and I booed him mentally.
The Ed Sullivan theater (where Letterman tapes) and The Broadway Theater (The Color Purple) are right across the street from eachother. When I got to The Broadway Theater I was surprised to see a line to buy rush tickets! I got in line and scored the last 1/2 price ticket for the matinee!! woohoo
With hours to kill I strolled through the streets, I ended up at Rockefeller Plaza and got a glimpse of Al Roker and Marilu Henner on the Today Show. It was just too cold to wait around and try to get an autograph so I got you with this picture.

I spent some time window shopping and getting a mani with Essie’s Sugar Daddy Pink nail polish just in time to grab a quick lunch and get to the theater.

After the play which I LOVED I had to run to the train to get down to 18th Street for the CEW event for Cosmetic Executive Women. It was an amazing rush of product information, with 600+ vendors to manage it was organized chaos with clear sections for fragrance, sun, skin etc… All the best brands were represented but my favorite thing was the water, with all the talking it was nice to toast to our succes with allure water. There were hair blow outs, hand massages, eyebrow design and so much more. All of this to help decide what the best products are, so stay tuned for lots of reviews…
Total Beauty was gracious enough to co-ordinate a get together afterwords so we could dish about products and life over delicious food. Thanks so much guys, my day in New York was awesome!

This is Rockefeller Center, the tree in the distance. Cartier had my favorite look, strange but gave the effect of a winter wonderland.

Here are some pictures going down 5th Avenue New York City December 2007
I loved the icicle effect at Harry Winston.

Bergdorf Goodman had beautiful window displays and Radio City Music Hall is celebrating 75 years I guess…

I have no idea where these red ball ornaments were!

Van Cleef & Arpels had a subtle holiday look.

These were all taken from the car, we didn’t have time to stop on this trip, there’s always next year…
