Dove’s got a new anti-perspirant deodorant on the market and I got a free sample a while back. Dove Visibly Smooth is said to “visibly diminish the visual appearance of hair over time.” It contains Pro-Epil Complex with natural extracts and Dove moisturizers.
My experience with the deodorant has been good, it’s easy to apply, smells good (I tried wild rose) and keeps the effects of perspiring down. As far as the softening of hair, it feels like it’s coming in slighty softer than normal in my third week and looks pretty much the same.
Keep in mind I have VERY coarse dark underarm hair (I know TMI) and light skin… it would take a LOT to reduce the visual effect of that contrast. I am for sure a hard customer to please in this venue because of my physical characteristics.
As a survivor of the tortuous epilady, I feel that anything painless that can even slightly reduce my work load in the underarm area is worth it. If you’re on the fence, I think it’s worth a shot, what do you have to lose? it’s not like there’s anything comparable that will “diminish the visual appearance of hair over time” and doesn’t hurt.
The product works for me in the most important aspect, it keeps me totally dry and fresh so I know I”ll be buying Dove Visibly Smooth deodorant again some time soon.
