Aren’t we blessed that we are not that concerned about our immediate survival that we can be so concerned about one young woman’s problems. Amidst talk of nuclear war, famine, droughts, floods, terrorism (insert any other real issue in here) the heiress named Paris Hilton captures all the media’s attention. Unlike other people, I think Paris’ story is important in it’s own framework, that is NOT the front page, maybe not even in a NEWSpaper but it does have a place somewhere. I find it telling that a young beautiful, rich woman that has everything money can buy AND a devoted family would turn to alcohol to the point where she drinks and drives. It is a sign of our society and the downward spiral we are in. It’s not going to get better any time soon. Thankfully there are a Steeping Beauties, like Angelina Jolie, that use their celebrity to bring attention to causes. Anderson Cooper will have an interview with her 10 p.m. tonight on CNN that I can’t wait to see.
