I was just watching the early show and am totally horrified with the new over-accessorized look. Seriously, haven’t they drummed into our heads, don’t over accessorize, don’t overpower with all the different things?
Now it seems we are to keep on adding stuff, the belts, the humongo earings and necklaces, hats, scarves and don’t forget the must-have gloves. All in colors I’m not particularly crazy about like purple. Having two little girls I NEVER ever dress them in purple. I will just try to keep in mind it’s a royal color, maybe ermine is next?
Katrina Szish suggests a bag that not necessarily matches your outfit but that you choose the purse first and build your outfit around it – this one is not going to happen. I have two purses I’m using right now, a large black patent Liz Claiborne and a green velvet juicy couture bowling bag that has resurfaced from the depths of my closet. I’m saving up for my Louis Vuitton bag for the spring so can’t spend on a purse right now. Both purses I’ll be using this fall/winter are structured which is a good thing it seems!
I’m still going to keep it simple, luckily my budget will impose a frugal take on the style which means raiding my jewelry box for stuff. So here are some of the little things I have that may fit into what InStyle magazine’s Katrina Szish suggests…
You know the jewelry is gawdy when girl2004 and girl2006 think it’s dress up time! So here is one of my muses in action and some other pics:
Red Vintage Ray Bans just like they had on the early show for the retro 80′s trend. A patent leather Dofan purse for sweet style and all those girly necessities.
Here is a bracelet my mother received from a Brazilian Artist many years ago. It is made out of rubber and green jewels.
Here is a ring gift from my father to my mother (my mother’s fingers were tiny!!) on girl2004′s hand with a stone bracelet.
Laurel Burch yellow and gold earrings.
Those are just some of my pics today, happy accessorizing!!
