It’s been a while since I’ve looked up what Linda Gray’s been up to and I needed to get my fix. This lady always makes me happy and remember the time before instant communication and cell phones… There is NO way Dallas could last on tv nowadays for a variety of reasons but the number one in my opinion is that the show relied on a lack of communication between breakfast, lunch dates and family dinners. Anyway, I’m always happy to see a familiar face. Here Linda is looking beautiful (as always) at a recent premiere after party.

I stumbled upon the 2010 3-Day Novel Contest a few hours ago and decided to give it a try! I have a few short posts scheduled so you won’t even know I’m gone…

UPDATE 9/12/2010: I wrote and typed and wrote again for about 10 hours off and on over the Labor Day Weekend following a very rough outline. I didn’t get to my ending so I just winged it for now. 7,656 words from scratch and a story I never even thought of before. I’m mailing off my entry today so wish me luck!

The Youth by Bliss by my bed

By my bedside I’ve had a few almost-empty moisturizers. If you were in my home, and standing by my bed (how likely is that? ###consider this foreshadowing###(it will all make sense shortly I promise)) it would surely puzzle you and you’d think I was a beauty hoarder but that is NOT the case at all.

I’ve been waiting to blog about several things and refuse to get rid of them before they’re totally done and accounted for on this blog. If you knew what a neat freak my husband was you’d understand the depth of my commitment on this! The Youth - as we know it - is billed as “an extraordinary anti-aging concentrate” and it truly is just that. It’s light – no greasy icky feeling. Smells fresh, just like a fresh squeezed citrus fruit. AND comes in a 1 fl oz pump bottle (I LOVE that it is non-contaminating!). I generally use The Youth by night or days when I will not be out as there is no SPF added but everyone has their own thoughts on that.

the beauty of Xanadu

If you could see me right now you’d know I was all smiles, from ear to ear, a big one. We watched Xanadu earlier tonight, the kiddies liked it (a little) but who wouldn’t? The beautiful Olivia Newton John, herinafter referred to as ONJ, was stunning and at the top of her game.

I won’t even bother with the “plot” as I don’t think that’s the point to this movie. Instead, watch it for all the beautiful elements, the perfect skin and artistic rebellion. The dance sequences will not hurt you I promise! This movie weaves in some mythology, ONJ portrays one of Zeus’ beautiful daughters. She’s a muse. So what beauty tips can we gather from Xanadu? the fashions are still inspiring and relevant so look it up if you haven’t already seen Xanadu.

Oraser – you’ve got to give them a hand

Oraser is a daily hand repair lotion with spf 20 that leaves my hands feeling so good.

If you’re not familiar with Dr. Obagi’s products, let me tell you for starters they are in the prettiest plastic tubing in the beauty world in my opinion. Elegant white with blue and silver trim with an interesting ‘zo’ logo (for Zo Skin Health).

As for the product, Oraser makes me wonder if liquid silk is possible. Use on hands, wrists and cuticles for the best effect. If you don’t already, treat yourself to a cuticle massage every day. If you’re a nail biter, like me, it really helps curb the tempation when your hands look good and taste like lotion!

My favorite thing of the week award goes to Lavanila’s Lip Butter with SPF 15. It’s true that I don’t have a natural attraction to anything vanilla. I must admit I’m not a lover of vanilla scent but right now I need an escape from reality and the everyday, plus with the hubby around I need those soft lips right now.
