In the latest (and greatest imho) BeautyFix is the ultra fabulous full sized (16 ounce) Gotta Have It Pomegranate Shower Sherbert.
I’m a big fan of sugar scrubs to exfoliate the dead skin on my legs and this one has a great pomegranate scent to die for! We’re almost done with our portion but I know I’ll be indulging some time very soon.
I don’t think there are too many people out there who don’t know how to use a sugar scrub so this review is short and sweet, if you’re looking for a reason to buy the latest BeautyFix you’ve found it.
BeautyFix sends you 9 products this time for $49.99. You can cancel anytime so there’s no worry if you don’t care for the next offering you can opt out. With the holidays coming up, many of the products would make great gifts!

The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ feature film will be in theaters December 25, 2009. If you like the looks in the movie be sure to check out Chantecaille’s makeup line. Makeup artist Patricia Regan used a couple of products, including an old favorite, Chantecaille’s Just Skin tinted moisturizer. It’s a little expensive @ $62 per 1.7 oz. If money is no object, go for it! It’s a two in one product with SPF 15 and is a great lightweight skin cover.
Chantecaille’s Just Skin is available in six shades:
Jewelery lovers and those who use dice as a gambling medium will be familiar with the black obsidian stone.
Black obsidians are known for their sleek, shiny appearance and now serve as inspiration to Giorgio Armani’slastest skincare offering, Crema Nera OMC³.
In search of its powerful vital energy, researchers studied the composition of obsidian and created the Obsidian Mineral Complex, a patented blend of four minerals – Iron, Silicon, Sodium and Potassium – naturally present in obsidian. When combined, these three ingredients form a powerful dermal restructuring system – a new-generation anti-aging technology to restore the very substance of the skin.
Sounds good to me! Camilla Belle, Sophia Bush, Michelle Tractenberg, and America Ferrera are reportedly fans of the line.
Crema Nera OMC³ has a suggested retail price of $185 so I’ll have to see lots of good things about this to bite. Available September 2009.
A sweet little recipe to refill your spritzer or atomizer courtesy of Josie Maran, true “luxury with a conscience”. Argan Oil is precious, and expensive making this a great way to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out.
If you don’t have the fresh ingredients you can always buy the essence or oil from your local health food store. Easy and useful project.
Angelina Jolie, once again, simple and elegant at the Hollywood premiere of the new movie ‘Inglourious Basterds’ August 10, 2009. Celebrity hairdresser, David Babaii kept it natural and most importantly to me, obtainable! That is if I still had my hair, I just chopped it off and look a lot like Rizzo ewww lolz. But for those of you girls who still have hair, here’s how he did it:
First, David applied Hair Polish to her entire mane followed by spraying Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier to the root area for lift and volume.
Next, he parted hair into 3 sections (This is David’s “key” signature tip). Beginning at the nape area, he used the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment for direct styling. To achieve her look, David blow dried her hair using a large round brush to smooth tresses straight and shiny.
When done drying the entire head, he took large sections and wrapped hair around the same round brush. With the blow dryer and nozzle in hand, blow an additional blast of hot air for 10 seconds and then hit the cool button for a burst of cool air: this sets the shape. Carefully release the section from the brush and continue until you have completed the whole head.
To finish, spray Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray.
David Babaii for WildAid products can be purchased at your local Rite Aid or online at: www.db4wildaid.com , Ulta, Drugstore.com & Amazon.com

Sadly, I’m not one of those women that likes to spend time on myself before going to bed. Showering is a nightly ritual but beyond that there is conflict. It’s not unusual for me to go to sleep with makeup on or not properly moisturized. booooo! The problem is of course that I need to do that much more before walking out the door the next morning.
I’ve had ups and downs but I currently do a night time skin routine right after dinner clean up. The kids are generally content and involved with eachother and I can catch some stolen moments sink side. This avoids the inevitable cycle –>kids in bed –> procure snacks –> jump on my bed –> engage laptop –> research, read and write –> fall asleep many hours later.
Staying up late makes you value every single extra second in bed in the morning that much more. It’s a much calmer day when I’ve properly prepped before bed. My skin looks better, feels softer, and it’s very comforting to know that while I slept my skin was resting and breathing with great products before another hectic day.
A while back I received a sample of DERMELECT Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum. I had high hopes for this product because of the claim that it would reduce visible pore size (which is my biggest skin concern). The result was ok, of course it was temporary but my skin looked even, lines and pores did look smaller. It comes in an ultra cool twist bottle. The formula is very liquidy which caught me buy surprise. Generally, serums with this consistency come with a dropper versus the pump. I kind of prefer this pump and there’s nothing to lose and there’s no chance for contamination.
Once upon a time, not too long ago, a lady was tired of talking heads that didn't get her lifestyle. She longed for one place where she could record her thoughts on the many wonderful products that came into her life and made it better (or worst).
Far from obsessive, cosmetics are only an enhancement to an already full fruitful life.
Originally inspired by the tea she drank and steeped constantly, now the best part of waking up is a steamy, frothy espresso. So she may be a little fickle with her beverages!
Steeping Beauty has a soft spot for all things beautiful.
