Nails. I have a long sordid history with me and my nails. It all started in elementary school. That’s where I learned how to create fake nails with Elmer’s glue. Making oval shapes inside our metal desks, waiting until the next morning and then gluing the nail on with more Elmer’s glue. The nails would be discarded at the end of the day so our parents wouldn’t know.
I do like and appreciate a nice manicure and I have worn fake nails, diamond nail fills, silk wraps, nail tips and more for extended periods of time. Everything goes fine at first and then I feel guilty about the huge expense of going to the salon every 10 days, not to mention that I feel like things are rushed once the salon workers thing I’m completely committed. Does this happen to anyone else?
That’s when I usually take things in my own hands and turn to the drugstore variety, dabbling in the fake nail section at the drugstore is a regular feature in my life now. I usually only wear fake nails for special occassions and apply the day before so the nails are strong and unscratched.
I applied Broadway’s Real Life practical every nails one week ago today. I can tell you with all confidence that these are a great way to get a nice looking manicure with minimal effort and expense. Just push back your cuticles, apply the pink glue which is included and apply the nail. The directions are to use the tab, I don’t get them personally, I just apply with my other hand on the nail bed for a few seconds until the glue dries.
It takes only a few minutes to apply the nails but the best part is they are easy to come off, soak fingers in a little amount of acetone and voila. I will admit to you the biggest problem with fake nails for me is finding the brand/style I want when I want them. I’m going to the store TODAY to try and find these. Why? because in my experience once I like a style/shape they are never to be found again! sure there are comparables but I’m the type of person that likes continuity! so if you do try some nails you like, make sure you stock up!
Read more reviews of Broadway Real Life nails on Total Beauty, you’ll be so glad you did! Broadway’s Real Life nails are available in three convenient sizes, Petite, Real Short and Short. To recap, these are very easy to apply, most lasted four days and I re-applied. Be sure to keep the extras that don’t fit exactly in case you lose one!

Hmm.. I have been putting on fake nails because I have a habit of biting nails. Will this be good (and economical) for daily use?
I guess it depends on how much you’d like to spend. These nails could easily stretch to a week – 10 day time frame. The nails fall off, if you find it, no problem, just reapply. The issue is when you lose the nail.
These are only about $6 which is better than salon prices for acrylics and tips which could easily run much more.
I love the length of these, I can actually type with them! I also like that they are a believable length, too long and they look fake!
let me know if you get some
Hi Delphine
I loved your blog. I used to have my acrylic nails done every 10 days but since I retired I am using fake nails that I apply myself. Much more economical and no trouble at all to put on. I also find it does not destroy the nails as when done in salons.
