And completely useless. 

The base is too small to cover any heating element -- gas, electric or induction -- so most of the heat is lost.  This might work well over a small burner of some sorts.  The capacity is small. Because the base is so small, the handles get exceedingly hot.  You need to dry it out between each use or the edges rust. 

This is a great kettle for the stovetop when you are taking pictures for that Architectural Digest spread.

And then you&#039;ll get out the $10 kettle that actually works when you want to boil some water for tea.</description>
