*********Update*********** this color IS available @ Sephora.com
The Daria Werbowy collection I talked about earlier has been a big hit for Lancome which is great for them and Centro Espacial but horrible for me.
I knew they were selling out fast and checked two days ago on the website and I believe both the Color Fever Lipstick in Beige Caracaï and Color Fever Gloss Sensual Vibrant Lipshine were in stock! Now the Lipstick is out of stock! oooh I’m soooo mad, you just don’t know how much I can’t stand when something is out. I really wanted that color bad.
Make sure to go through www.mypoints.com when ordering from www.Lancome.com you get 2000 points per month and usually a free sample collection. 2000 mypoints is about ($14).
I’m really trying to be patient but this is killing me!

International beauty is one of my many interests, especially the fusion of France and Brazil. Being Frazilian myself I love seeing Lancôme being inspired by the many colors of Brazil. The connection came in when Daria Werbowy, supermmodel and Lancôme spokesperson, visited Rio and met up with Vic Muniz of Centro Espacial. The Centro Espacial encourages art education. Daria was impressed, and pitched a Brazilian inspired collection to Lancôme that would benefit the center.
I immediately ran out to the Lancôme counter to check it out but when they had no idea what I was talking about (don’t worry, I did pick up some other goodies!) After looking over the email I realized my enthusiasm got me so dizzy I didn’t bother to read that the collection is only available @ sephora.com, Lancome Boutiques and Lancome USA.
Kudos to Daria on the idea, I’m thrilled about the color palette being in earthy tones. Very wearable, chic and elegant. Check out the Video The Daria collection includes:
Color Fever Lipstick in Beige Caracaï, $26.00
Color Fever Gloss in Nude Prainha, $24.00
Color Design Eye Shadow Quad in Carnet de Velours, $45.00
I’m going to place my order tonight so I will keep you posted!

Bobbi Brown, Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier worked closely with the Havaiana’s team to create three very special pairs of flip flops, limited edition season must-haves in fact!
I’m constantly amazed by the trickling in of Brazilian influence on international style and culture. Now you may be thinking, flip flops are that important? yes, they are the icons of footwear, I’ve never met a Brazilian who didn’t have them. I seriously never, ever in a trillion years imagined the Havaiana’s I loved and left with no regard in Brazil would get designer attention some day abroad. But they are getting just that AND being sold in Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks.com (now there’s a link you don’t see everyday!)
I can’t help but find them strange bedfellows for some reason but I’m a sucker for charity and I’m thrilled about Havaiana’s success! I also love the fact that the proceeds of the sale go to charity water. The price point,$15, is great because it’s reasonable and attainable for many people. For those of you that have never tried Havaiana’s for some reason, you’ve got to, limited edition or not, they are thin but bouncy… I love mine and can walk for miles in them.
Here are some excerpts from the press release…

“Bobbi Brown created a pair that reflects the spirit of summer- keeping it simple, enjoying every moment, and of course, and always looking fabulous in the process. “The beach is where I go to unwind with my family, so I keep things easy by wearing sunscreen, simple makeup and a fun pair of flip-flops.” (Julia are you getting these or what?)

”Trish McEvoy wanted to bring to her sandal design the feeling of a walk on the beach—her favorite way to relax. “My colors this season brighten your complexion and call to mind the deep blues of the ocean, the pearlescent shades inside a seashell, and the glitter of the sand-taking you on an instant vacation.”
Laura Mercier decided to fill her canvas with kisses showcasing the new lipstick shades in her summer assortment, saying “A comfortable sandal should be as comfortable as wearing the lipstick on your lips.”

April showers bring May flowers? April Showers May Bring flowers would be more appropriate. I’m getting quite frustrated by the sluggish tulips and no-show crocus in my garden. It’s enough to make me want to throw in the trowel and get a good stiff drink. Thankfully body showering is much healthier and pleasant and I’m especially pleased to talk about a new product I’ve been using.
It is often said to make lemonade out of lemons but what I really love are limes. I’ve quenched my thirst with a Brazilian bath and shower gel from Brazilian Fruit that has transported me to the beachside cafes and gum drop mountains of Rio. The scent of Caipirinhas (a Brazilian drink made from rum, sugar and lime juice served on the rocks) is soothing and comforting. The best part, there are NO parabens or mineral oil.
Caipirinha shower gel is appropriate for all skin types, contains sugar cane and lemon pulp extracts to nourish your skin after a long day of work or play. It’s important to note that the extract comes from lime pulp and will not cause photosensitivity to your skin. I really love this at night, since I don’t go out to bars, it’s a nice compromise to carry the scent of a drink. Check out the www.brazilbeautyproducts.com website for all the best skincare!

It’s the dead of winter, few months to go ’til spring. I’ve been spending way to much time inside, I need to get a mental trip.
So what do Brazil ’s Carnaval and Fresh Sugar Lemon have in common? they both make me think of summer! There’s no better way to do that than with music and fragrance!
Winter is a great time to listen to tropical music like samba. There are tons of samba compilation cds available to get you in the mood for Carnaval in Brazil (February 2 - 5, 2008). I wish American tv would play Carnaval, I watched it a few years ago on Brazilian tv and it seems very tame compared to when I was growing up.
I never really thought about it but I’m sure I can find somewhere on the web to watch… hmmm… Fragrance is another way you can bring that tropical feel to your wintry abode. I’ve been using Fresh Sugar Lemon Eau de Parfum and it’s been taking me down memory lane.
Summers in Brazil, getting fresh orange juice, churascaria’s with lemon juice on the table and of course fresh sugar-y lemonade.
Summer just wouldn’t be summer without lemonade wherever you are. Sugar Lemon has notes of Italian Bergamot, Yuzu, Mandarin, Lychee Flower, Orange Blossom, Ginger Flower, Oak Moss, Caramel, White Santal. It is refreshing and invigorating and a must for any fragrance lover. Not to mention a lot cheaper than going to Brazil!
