Beauty Secrets
My Foundation: Currently, Stila Illuminating 30 Watt Foundation. Usually it’s some type of tinted moisturizer.
My Mascara: afterglow cosmetics mascara has no chemicals that will hurt your eyes
My Blush: MAC, Thevi
My Day Cream: Berwick Beauty great rose scent from real roses!
My Lipstick: Shu Uemura great color
My Beauty Product Brand: Too many to list, ALL except Benefit (way too gimicky)
My Essential Beauty Product: Lancome Juicy Tubes and I’m planning on getting to the counter to get a new one today!
My Favorite Makeup Product: Rosebud Salve because it is always there for me, lasts fooooorever
My Perfume: Chanel Gardenia was a mainstay for a few years but now I sphritz all that’s handy
My Nails: Chanel BUT I want to try some of the polishes that are non-toxic
My Feet: Miss Oops Pedicure in a Bottle and Curel foot formula
My Hands: I don’t even know the name of this but it comes from the body shop, comes in a metallic squeeze tube. I buy it less than once a year on autopilot and too lazy to see the name.
Three Products to bring on a deserted island: red lipgloss like a Juicy Tube, some type of cleanser that lasts forever like Cetaphil, globs and globs of conditioner
Woman I Admire for her Beauty: Lynda Carter
Woman with the Best Sense of Style: I hate to say this. Really. Hate. This. I would say J Lo, ole sweet face herself and Beyonce.
My Ultimate Dream: To be a snowbird, we already have the home in Maine, just need a home somewhere warm!
My Favorite Fashion Publication: Fashion from real women, I love the blogs that are from people just like me that are dealing with budget, size and practicality. Check out the Splendicity blog roll under fashion.

The word ‘balance’ is often used in skincare and health talk. I can’t help but think of myself delicately trying to balance on a beam. Did anyone else have to go through the balance beam drill in school? I could NOT stand it.
I was terrible at it to begin with but in addition to that it seemed like it was too little too late. I mean if you’re in junior high and have lousy balance is 20 minutes per week going to turn that around? probably not. Very very annoying. Anywho, I survived all that thankfully so I’m now balancing with a foam cleanser.
NARS balancing foam cleansing mousse
A delicate and light botanical scent, just a tiny little bit goes a looong way. You probably know NARS for their makeup, now it’s time to get to know NARS skincare a little better. I’m so happy with this product, maybe my expectations were low, thinking NARS does such a great job with makeup, there’s little chance they can get so much right. I stand corrected, not only is NARS makeup awesome, so is NARS skincare.
An instant personal fave, the balancing foam cleansing mousse is so satisfying, easy to use, perfect to display. I love the way it takes off all my makeup and grime. At the same time it leaves your skin refreshed and soft, not stripped like some cleansers can.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
let’s see, I had been married for 3 years, living in Japan, spending as much free time as humanly possible at Roppongi and mixing it up with the locals, teaching them English Communication.
2. What are 5 things on my to-do list today? (I’ll do tomorrow because the day is over!)
- go to the gym for at least 2 classes
- pack up my gym bag with everything I need for the girls in the childcare and me to shower and get ready for the day
- go to the beach with the girls
- get home and start dinner, wait for boy2001
- mail out the two Netflix Little House on the Prairie Disney movies
3. Snacks I enjoy:
German Chocolate Cake, Truffles, Popcorn with Butter/salt, apricots, Sushi
4. Places I’ve lived:
- New York City 19 years
- Key West 2 years
- Miami 1 year
- Japan 4 years
- Maine 8 years
5. Things I’d do if I were a billionaire:
Figure how much I need to put away to get $300,000 in interest annually. Then I would follow Mr. Howell’s (aka the millionnaire from Gilligan’s Island) lead and board a charter boat with 3 other passengers and bumbling crew members. If I didn’t do that I would live it up like they did on Dallas, I would take the roll of Miss Ellie and encourage my kids to live at home and dress in silk pantsuits for dinner and get decked out for the most casual of occasions. Seriously though, I would move to Texas, I’ve been a few times and I can tell you if you’ve got money you can live pretty good there.
6. People I want to know more about: There are so many! One that has been sticking in my brain has been Rachel who spoke during the Total Beauty Summit about the The Healthy World, Healthy Child Book and site. We’re probably the same age but she has a wonderful something about her that makes me want to be just like her when I grow up! or at least after I get some sleep…
I’d like to tag the following fabulous bloggers, I think I got a good mix and variety represented so I hope you find something interesting. If you’d leave your links to your posts that would be great!!

Where are you headed after you read this? Chances are you’ll make a first impression or cement a contact some time soon so you might as well look and feel your best! The first thing people notice is your smile and teeth and if you’re like me it’s hard to keep up with your smile all the time.
I’m always rushing off somewhere to take my kids to class or an activity, making my contact with people short snippets lasting only a few minutes. I don’t want another mom to notice unsightly plaque on my teeth because I didn’t have time to brush… that’s where DentaBurst comes in. All you need is a finger and a DentaBurst packet. The little packet is tiny, it could fit in your wallet it’s so thin and small.

When you’re ready to brush, you just open the packet, put your finger in the cleaner and “brush” your teeth to your heart’s content. It’s that easy! I really heart DentaBurst = Dental Hygiene on the go. If you’d like more information about DentaBurst check out their site. See you in the VIP lounge!! Be Ready to Shine!
ENTER to WIN *Blogger Contest*
As an extra special thank-you for reading, I’d like to offer one blogger a free sample pack of DentaBurst Mint Flavor. (12 strips) All you have to do is tell us why you want to be ready to shine with DentaBurst. Place your email and blog in the appropriate fields as a comment on this post. I will pick a winner @ random on Cinco de Mayo! Your chances will be good for this one so enter to win this super-fresh prize today! Your blog can be on any subject but must be safe for work/family friendly. Continental USA, FPO/APO only.
