NARS Pink Chocolate Pigalle Lipstick Review

July 7th, 2008 · No Comments

NARS cosmetics Semi-Matte lipstick PigalleI’ve been growing a little tired of the glossy lip look, I mean it’s pretty, but it’s nice to have a variety of looks in your makeup bag.  NARS Pigalle is an excellent choice because it’s a mauve it goes with a lot of my outfits.  Not too pink or too brown, it’s like the color of my lips naturally but amplified a bit, in fact it’s described as pink chocolate.  I love it for every day wear.  A matte lipstick that feels moist is not easy to find, most of the time you feel like you’ve eaten a bag of chalk by the end of the day!  Worst yet, is when you LOOK live you’ve eaten a bag of chalk from all the overly drying matte. That’s why I love this semi-matte formula.  Pigalle is color but in a discrete way, not too obvious or in your face.  I’m sure it’s long lasting on normal people but I am constantly giving out kid kisses so I can’t vouch on that.  Let me know if you give it a try!

Retails for $24 @ Nars Cosmetics

I’m sooooooooooooooooooo MAD, sold out of Lancome Werbowy Color Fever

June 17th, 2008 · 6 Comments

Lancome Color Fever Lipstick Daria Werbowy  *********Update*********** this color IS available @ Sephora.com

The Daria Werbowy collection I talked about earlier has been a big hit for Lancome which is great for them and Centro Espacial but horrible for me.

I knew they were selling out fast and checked two days ago on the website and I believe both the Color Fever Lipstick in Beige Caracaï and Color Fever Gloss Sensual Vibrant Lipshine were in stock! Now the Lipstick is out of stock! oooh I’m soooo mad, you just don’t know how much I can’t stand when something is out.  I really wanted that color bad.

Make sure to go through www.mypoints.com when ordering from www.Lancome.com  you get 2000 points per month and usually a free sample collection. 2000 mypoints is about ($14).

I’m really trying to be patient but this is killing me!

Pro-To-Go Lipstick by AVON

April 29th, 2008 · 2 Comments

AVON Pro-To-Go Lipstick

Avon has a new product Pro-To-Go Lipstick! I haven’t tried it but I love the concept. A lot of times I’m putting on makeup or touching up in the car and suddenly the light turns green and I’m stuck putting down an uncapped lipstick.  Of course I get distracted and the lipstick rolls away or stays there and gets dirty from being uncapped.  It is so annoying, this product looks like it will take care of all that with one little button you can open, apply and close.  Available in 15 shades with SPF 15 and moisturizing elements.  Check it out @ www.avon.com

Plant Kisses with CARGO PlantLove Lipstick

April 28th, 2008 · 1 Comment

CARGO Plant Love LipstickNow you can plant kisses AND flowers with your lipstick!  Celebrity moms Kim Raver, Denise Richards and Angie Harmon joined forces with CARGO to develop the shades of PlantLove lipstick.  There are some beautiful shades available, I especially like that the packaging is eco-friendly and as a bonus super cute too!  The lipstick tube is made entirely out of corn which is a renewable resource.  In addition to that the carton it comes in is also made out of paper which is embedded with real flower seeds.  All you do is plant the carton, water and watch your garden bloom.  The lipstick is $20 @ Sephora.com, $2 of the purchase price will go to St. Jude’s Pediatrics Research Hospital.  This is a must-buy for me on my next order so stay tuned!

Find out what others think about CARGO products.

Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine

April 3rd, 2008 · 3 Comments

Shu Uemura Ultra Rouge Crystal ShineShu Uemura has released their newest thing for your lips, Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine makes it’s debut with 17 lip colors with professional grade hyper pigment.  The formula has water-capturing molecules that will hydrate your lips while shining them up with light-reflective pearls.

Here are some tips from shu uemura’s Principal Makeup Artist, Jason Hoffman…

-For a light glossy stain, apply directly from the tube.
-If you want a slightly heavier shine, use a brush to apply. The brush will pick up more product and blend it evenly on the lips.
-For more color depth and long lasting wear, pair the crystal shine with a pencil.  Try to use a pencil that is similar in color and remember to fill in the lips, avoiding the outline left alone when the shine wears off.
-As with all of our lipsticks, crystal shine is great for eyes and cheeks.  Use a synthetic foundation brush and apply on the apples. (the colors look very fresh and the shimmer offers a beautiful sheen)
-For the eyes, use a synthetic concealer brush. Beiges and browns will be the easiest to wear on the eyes as reds and oranges can often make you look tired.
-Every woman should own the shade WH (white) 002S.  It is so versatile! It can be used alone for a light glossy finish or layered over ANY lip color.  It will lighten the color and give it a hint of pink shimmer.
-The shade BG (beige) 901S is also a must have for anyone who likes wear a smoky eye.  It is the perfect beige that compliments browns, purples, greens, blues and black.

All of those tips are very do-able, a big thanks to Mr. H and Shu Uemura for passing this on.  Click on over to the Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine site to purchase a lippy.  If you’d like to test in person visit the Uemura boutiques in fab cities like: San Francisco, Boston and Costa Mesa or select Neiman Marcus stores, Saks, Barney’s NY, Chicago and 90210.

Keep on Shining!

Stila compliments Marchesa fashions

February 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Stila Marchesa

I am so looking forward to fall 2008!  Stila is projecting matte skin, so use a nice sheer pressed powder and a concealer where you need it.  Move on to create your smokey eyes, long lush lashes - go for the drama!  Flushed cheeks and a shiny lip saturated with color.

If you’re wondering how to saturate your lip with color, use layers!  Stila’s cherry crush lip and cheek stain will be your first lip layer, then try Stila’s SPF20 lipstick in caicos over the stain.  The stain is on my “must have” list, very pretty flushed look - I love a dual purpose product!

Stila always delivers, pretty, wearable looks.  No wonder Marchesa has turned to Stila for four seasons to get the make up just right for their shows.

Lancome’s Pixel Pink Vid on YouTube

February 27th, 2008 · No Comments

Got three minutes? be inspired by Thakoon’s fashions and Lancome’s Pixel Pink Lipstick (Pout-a-Porter the 4th).

Pixel Pink on Youtube

The video is very entertaining, lots of Thakoon’s Spring 2008 runway footage.  Did you hear the part where Thakoon says it will compliment tan skin?

I’m thinking I might give this one a chance after all…  I’m changing my position from casual, if it falls in my lap I will try it stance, to ‘I must go out and get Pixel Pink’!!  One warning, you may crave apple pie after viewing.

Lancome’s Pixel Pink Lipstick Debut

February 7th, 2008 · 3 Comments

thakoonlrimage.JPGIf you’ve been waiting to purchase the fourth designer Lancome Lipstick your wait is over.  If you just like to be on top of all the hotness, read on.  Lancôme Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Pixel Pink was worn by all the models for the Thakoon show to rave reviews.  Pixel Pink is described as a sheer raspberry.

The Pout-à-Porter lipstick will initially be sold at Lancome’s USA website.  March 1st it will debut @ Neiman Marcus for $25.

After seeing it on the models at the Thakoon show, I’m wondering if this will be too light on me and not show at all.  I don’t mind spending money on make-up if it’s going to show up. I do like a fresh looking lip and I do wear a lot of pink lipsticks.  I tend to choose darker shades so they show up on my medium skin tone.

I will swing by the store to try Pixel Pink for two reasons: First you can never have enough pink in your life.  Secondly, when you have little girls you realize pink goes with everything, pink completely deserves neutral status.  No beauty repertoire is complete without lots of pink.
