2008 is the year my husband and I have been looking forward to, it marks his 20th year in the Navy and the beginning of our civilian life. Everything we’ve done the last few years has been in preparation for this moment and at times I have been so focused on our kids, finances and education that I haven’t been living my healthiest life.
I’ve kick started my plan by taking some things off my plate - figuratively speaking!
I’ve gotten rid of at least half of my possessions. Asking if something is ‘useful or pretty’ is VERY helpful in the purging process.
I’ll eat more nutritious foods with low calories like lettuce and spinach leaves with lean proteins like chicken and eggs while guzzling lots of water. It’s not that easy to get to the supermarket every three days but I’m going to make it a priority so I have fresh veggies and fruit on hand.
I’ll increase income and lower expenses, working 3 hours a week in my gym’s daycare earns me $100/month and saves me $80/month in gym fee and childcare. This encourages me to work out since it’s free!
I’ll create a guest room to entertain out of town guests, family is really important to me - having them around will inspire me to get and stay fit.
There are a lot of factors which led to my weight gain, substituting community and family with food just doesn’t work. My healthier life starts right now!
