I’ve long considered make up and cosmetics to be and enhancement to a beautiful woman. I can see the beauty of a woman like Karen Grassle (Ma) in Little House on the Prairie and the Glamour Girl Ginger Grant of Gilligan’s Island. One looks natural and motherly, the other looks sexy and glamorous. Of course I admire and would love to be both of these there is a time and a place for everything in my opinion.
In the end they’re both just women, ok, fictional characterizations of women but still totally loveable. I often struggle with how made up to look, I really like to look natural and not made up most days. My lifestyle calls for it, running errands, changing diapers, blogging.
On the other hand it’s fun to dress up a casual jean look with more noticeable make up, there’s a diamonds with blue jeans effect I’m after that I find so appealing. The one thing I can say not to do is look so unapproachable that it would put someone off, let’s face it people are fascinated but at the same time put off by totally perfect people. It’s one of my personal theories that too perfect on the outside means some terrible turmoil on the inside and that they may be using the art of deception.
